Coptic Orthodox Church Centre, United Kingdom
Under the care of H.G. Bishop Angaelos
  Personal - CNST Mission Pledge

Our Pledge

The Cornerstone started as a concept for the pastoral ministry of youth, but has now developed into an achievable reality for the service of each and every one of our children. Through this project, and within the general role and ideology of the Coptic Orthodox Church Centre, under the guidance of His Grace Bishop Angaelos,

we pledge:

·         To hold true to the very nature of the pastoral direction and philosophy of the Coptic Orthodox Church, under the envisioned leadership of His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark, and maintain our commitment to a personal, individual and ‘hands-on’ approach to every division of her ministry, and in particular, to one of the areas of greatest concern in this day and age, being the work with youth- as the foundation for the future.

·         To provide, through more specialised facilities, a variety and diversity of pastoral, social and individual activities and services that satisfy the needs of generations surrounded by an increasingly secular and amoral world.

·         To maintain a very clear vision as to the separations between means and ends, not aiming to build an extravagant monument, but rather, using this project as a means to serve every person.

·         To continue to be totally committed to the ministry of the word in its spiritual and social sense, as the drive behind this project comes from the very real need to serve our current and coming generations.  These facilities will ensure the provision of various spiritual and social activities for all members of the Coptic Church and community in the United Kingdom.

·         To encourage our children to be good and productive members of the general community through our own example of open, healthy and proper integration.

·         To utilise The Cornerstone in assisting the service of every church in the United Kingdom and further afield, seeing it only as part of the ongoing growth of the Coptic Church.

·         To ensure the continuation of our commitment to all other aspects of our service. This project will not reduce our capacity to serve the poor and the needy, both here in the United Kingdom and abroad, while at the same time teaching our children to do so.
